Parvej Husen Talukder Appointed as Chairman & CFO of Bhikitia
Md Parvej Husen Talukder, the visionary founder of Bhikitia, has officially assumed the dual role of Chairman & Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of the newly formed Bhikitia (Bhikitia Authority), the executive leadership body tasked with guiding the Bhikitia movement into its next phase of growth and global impact.
As the Chairman, Parvej holds the supreme governance position within Bhikitia, responsible for overseeing the project’s long-term vision, financial strategy, executive appointments, and institutional sustainability. His appointment reflects both his foundational contributions and his ongoing dedication to making multilingual, accessible, and community-driven knowledge freely available to people across the world.

Prior to this leadership transition, Parvej served as the founding editor, MediaWiki developer, and strategic director of the Bhikitia project. Under his guidance, Bhikitia transformed from a concept into a growing multilingual encyclopedia that empowers contributors, highlights underrepresented cultures, and offers a child-friendly, educational space for global users.
Born in Derai Upazila, Bangladesh, Parvej is also known for his contributions to children’s literature, journalism, and digital innovation. He has long advocated for open access to knowledge, especially for marginalized communities and indigenous language speakers.
In his new capacity, Parvej aims to strengthen Bhikitia’s governance model, promote financial sustainability, and expand its outreach through partnerships and inclusive digital policies. He will work closely with the newly appointed leadership team, which includes professionals overseeing operations, technology, community relations, and legal affairs.
“Bhikitia is not just a project—it is a movement. As Chairman, I pledge to protect its values and ensure it remains a space where knowledge is shared with integrity, inclusiveness, and love for humanity,” said Parvej in his first address as Chairman.
The Bhikitia Authority reflects the project’s evolution from a grassroots initiative to a structured, community-anchored knowledge platform with global aspirations.
